What's Your Problem? The CSI of Food...

Does the internet ever quit? Just when I think I know everything (which is often - ha-ha), I come across something that just amazes me on the net. I think if you've read a post or two of mine, you'll know that I have a thing for chocolate. I say as long as it's socially acceptable, I'm doing good. As far as I'm concerned everyone has a problem - some people smoke or drink too much, maybe they need to keep a clean house (that's not my problem), maybe they swear like a pirate, whatever it is, everyone has something that makes them special in a potentially problematic sort of way. Little did I know that loving, craving, dreaming chocolate might be a problem for me!

I read on the internet (grain o' salt) that craving chocolate might actually be an indication of a lack of magnesium in my body. Interesting, eh? It is suggested that I eat nuts and fruit to quell my cravings. I'm going to take this suggestion heart, of course. Heaven for bid my body be denied magnesium...

There were other interesting points on the list I read. For instance, if you're craving coffee you might be lacking Phosphorus. So, to fill that need you would need to eat like some beef or liver. Yea, right - why don't you skip your beloved latte tomorrow morning and have a steak instead? Mmmmmmmmmmmmm....

If you have a hankering for recreational drugs or alcohol, you may need to fill up on mustard & turnip greens, cabbage juice and kale because you may be lacking in calcium or glutamine. Sounds like a nice alternative for a Friday night afterwork get together. (Another round of cabbage juice!) Of course, the experience may kick your bodily functions into overdrive...

There's one more item that you might be craving - burnt food. (Uh, okay...) If you are drooling over burnt food you may be in need of carbon, so do yourself a favor and eat some fruit. I don't know what carbon is, but I'm not craving any crispy, charcoaled food items, so I will write that in my gratitude journal and call it a day...
