Christine's Cooking Blog Introduction

Since I am new to Forks.ca, I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Christine and I absolutely love to cook! I am so passionate about food that I often find it hard to dine out in restaurants. I find, that I can prepare any dish much better at home! As my job has taken me around the world, I love to challenge myself, preparing dishes from many different cultures and countries. It's fasinating to learn to use native ingredients creating truely unique and exciting recipes.

My inspiration presented itself as a child. My mother was a great cook and gardener. She would spend hours in her garden and used organic growing methods before organic became popular! She would take me into her garden, to taste various raw herbs and spices, she would then have me describe the taste of a particular recipe just by viewing the printed copy. A gift from Mom, I can now literately view a recipe and know how it tastes! She patiently taught and inspired my love of food! As the years passed, I realized that her cooking was really her way of showing her love to family and friends! To her, food was the ultimate gift, knowing that her ingredients were the best available - nourishing our love, laughter and togetherness! It is a tradition that remains, as I journey through my culinary life! To me, cooking is an artful expression that sooths the soul!
