Do you ever get elected to supply the cake for your relatives' birthday parties? Need a birthday cake quick?
Pick up an Angel Food cake from your local grocery store and get decorating!
My mom-in-law has been pimping her Angel Food cake the same way for as long as I can remember. But, despite the repetitive appearance of her Angel Food cake at her dining room table, we never tire of eating it.
All you need it 500ml (2 cups) of whipping cream. Whip it up with your mixmaster until you can form peaks with your spatula. Right before the whipping is finished, add a tablespoon of sugar to the whipped cream.
Place the Angel Food cake on a serving platter. "Ice" with the whipping cream. Decorate with sliced strawberries, or whole raspberries.
This cake and whipped cream combination is light, yet satisfying.
Another way to serve it is to place slices of the "iced" cake on plates and then top with berries in syrup.
Serve immediately.
Happy Cooking!
