I firmly believe that what we put into our mouths contributes to our overall well-being and health.
Meaning, if you want to nosh on fast food, fine, but know that you aren't doing your body any favours. Did you watch Fast Food Nation? Sick, eh? If you didn't watch it, it was basically about a guy who tried to eat only fast food from a certain fast food chain for 30 days. Within a day of starting his personal challenge, he was feeling like crap. He even puked on film, which was somewhat gross, but contributed to the reality of the documentary.
Near the end of his 30 days, he didn't feel good at all. It took him 9 months to undo the damage that those 30 days did to his body. So, why even bother with fast food? Fast food brings your body down, and it's hard for your body to fight off germs when it's not being nourished properly.
It's important to make healthy food choices, especially during flu season. Flu season starts now.
Next time you have a bit of a chill, you could be fighting a cold. Try cooking up a pot of Clam Chowder, getting some extra rest and reading a good book.
...All things that might just kickstart your immune system and overpower those viral invaders.

Fast Food Nation wasn't the title of the movie about the guy who eats fast food for 30 days straight; that movie is Super Size Me. Fast Food Nation is a film about the industry itself, from corporate drones to lowly burger flippers and teen activists.
