Holiday Baking: Festive Sugar Cookies

These sugar cookies require no refrigeration before baking!

Sugar Cookies
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 3/4 c. white sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 c. unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs

Sugar for sprinkling (Red or Green, of course!)

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Cream the butter with the sugar, until fluffy, about 1 minute. Mix in eggs one at a time.
3. Mix up dry ingredients.
4. Combine the butter mixture with the flour mixture.
5. Drop cookies onto cookie sheet. I usually make about 1 inch sized drops. Slightly flattened the tops so that sprinkled sugar will stick to the dough.
6. Bake about 7 minutes for 1 inch sized cookies, longer if you make them bigger. I like to cook them so they are just starting to turn golden.

Happy Baking!
