At about the same time I switch from red wine to white in the spring, hot coffee becomes unpleasant. It's almost a springtime rite of passage -- at a certain point I stop drinking my coffee from a steaming mug, and switch to a tall glass of sweet iced coffee.
There's no need to spend the GNP of a small country at the coffee shop each week. Just brew a big pot of very strong coffee after work, sweeten it well (I also like to splash in some vanilla) and let it cool in a pitcher on the counter, without a lid. Once it's cooled, put the lid on and refrigerate.
Serve in a glass over ice with plenty of cream.

As a child I used to stick a spoon in it, then put in the freezer before school.
After school a nice coffee popsicle awaited me.
