My friend Margot is an American that has lived in London for over 20 years. She says that there is only one thing that she really misses from the US, and that's a decent brownie. Brownies aren't big in the UK, so Margot, determined to have a great brownie, tried hundreds of recipes before she found the one that suited her best. You know what? Margot makes the world's best brownies!
Luckily, she's shared her recipe with me, written on a yellow post-it note that has been on my fridge for at least 20 years. And I'm going to share it with you.
Let me just say that the recipe that I have is cryptic at best, and I'm going to write it just like Margot did so long ago.

Melt 4 squares of bittersweet chocolate and 2 sticks of butter over low heat.
Once melted, take off the heat and let cool.
Add 2 cups granulated sugar and 3 eggs to the chocolate and mix well.
Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 cup of flour.
Bake at 350 for ~50 minutes.
What you get is the fudgiest, gooiest, chocolatiest brownies in the world.
