My New Crock-Pot

My husband surprised me a couple of weeks ago with a new crock-pot. I've been kinda hinting him for months now how I would love to have a new one since the old one that he gave me for Mother's day years ago was all torn up. Well it was still good for cooking, but the handle somehow broke into pieces. I had to be really careful on handling it whenever I use it for roasts, and stews.

For the first dish to "baptize" my new crock-pot, I wanted to make a classic beef roast but Hubby picked corned beef brisket instead. Since he was romantic ;) enough to surprise me with this favorite kitchen cookware of mine, I figured why not have an Irish dinner. So we had corned beef brisket, potatoes, carrots and cabbage plus a soda bread as my surprise to him for dinner.

If you are just starting out in your new kitchen and trying to learn how to cook, I suggest getting a crock-pot. It's a "set it and forget it" kind of cookware that is very helpful anytime, any day.
