Quick Sides in a Hurry: Asparagus & Olives!

It's suppertime and you can't be bothered putting together a salad or cutting up broccoli to steam - that's okay...the secret to not letting the mad dash to get supper on the table quickly during the week is to be prepared.

There are several items that are worth keeping in your pantry at all times, and olives are one of them. Kalamata, Sicilian, Nicoise, black, green, stuffed with garlic, stuffed with feta, there's such a wide variety of olives. The thing is, is that the olive is a classy food. Open a can of olives, serve them in one of those long olive dishes and you're going to look like you know what you're doing in the kitchen.

Incidentally, green olives are olives that are picked while they are young and black olives are the more
mature olives.
