Why not learn from my mistakes?

This being my first post, I feel the need to introduce myself. I'm Lesli. I'm a writer and I like to cook. That's why I'm here - to share the joys and failures of hanging out in the kitchen. It's not all about perfect cheesecake and golden brown turkeys.

I was a horrible baker...until I started to be a little more careful with the measurements. Who knew that when a recipe called for 1 1/2 cups of flour that the flour had to be level in the measuring cups? Hey, the more the merrier! By the way, too many chocolate chips in your chocolate cookie mix will make it hard for the dough to stick together when you go to drop the walnut sized balls onto the baking sheet. Believe me, I'm full of advice.

Why not learn from my mistakes? While you're at it I'll pass along some recipes that really deliver. I love recipes that are simple yet pack alot of taste. I usually need to make supper in a short time and I want it to taste good. The best case scenario is for a meal to be healthy and tasty - this is possible. That's not to say that it's about being healthy all the time. According to my source, which is me, a person needs a regular dose of chocolate, in normal form or brownie form. Just remember everything in moderation.

I might even share some kitchen tips to go along with my fellow foodie's advice about lemons and baggies. I love that sort of thing. Obviously I'm going to include alot of different recipes and babble in this space, but I encourage you to let me know if there's something you want me to focus on. Or if you want to ask me a question (generally related to this topic) then fire away. I look forward to hearing from you...
